Gilmore Girls Book Tag!!

Hey, everyone! So today I’m here with one of my favorite posts yet, and that is the Gilmore Girls Book Tag! I just finished preparing for 2 essays that I have to write for class tomorrow, and I decided to treat myself by scrolling through YouTube. There, I found a book tag for my favorite show of all time, Gilmore Girls! I cannot even begin to explain how much I love this show. Knowing me, I’ll probably do a post about it in the future. I am a huge TV fan, so expect to see a lot more TV book tags from me in the future! But without further ado, let’s get started!

I JUST GOT HIT BY A DEER – character having the worst day ever

Okay, can we all agree that Katniss from The Hunger Games basically had the worst day ever? In the span of one day, she found out that her sister was going to be competing in the Hunger Games, and then she found out that she was going to be the one taking her place, since her sister would die if she were the one to compete. I’m sorry, but that sounds like anyone’s worst nightmare, on steroids.

STARS HOLLOW – wildly eccentric cast

For this question, I have to go with pretty much everybody from the Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater. I love the world and the cast of characters Maggie has created, from the women of 300 Fox Way, to of course Blue’s beloved Raven Boys. Just thinking about these characters makes me want to reread this series so bad, because it is one of my all time favorites.

COFFEE – a book you’re addicted to

It was hard to choose a book for this question, since I am addicted to so many books, but I had to go with Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Fangirl is not my #1 favorite book of all time, but it is definitely one of my favorite books ever. I’m definitely addicted to, because I’m always thinking about these characters and wanting to reread the book, even though I have so many times.

SOMEONE DEVIL EGGED BY CAR – great act of revenge

When Juliette broke Anderson’s legs and then killed him at the end of the book was the most epic act of revenge!! She did it for herself, for all the people he’s killed, all the lives he’s ruined, and for Warner. She literally has the best character development of any character I’ve ever read, I love her so much.

MR. MEDINA – an illicit affair

I honestly can’t think of any answer for this question! I don’t think that I’ve read any books with some scandalous affair.

KIM’S ANTIQUES – a world you’d be afraid to enter

Definitely the world of The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood! I actually haven’t read this book yet, I’ve only seen the TV show, but I’m planning to read it once this season ends, because I don’t want to spoil anything for myself. In this world, women have absolutely no rights, and those who are still fertile are used as “handmaids” to give children to men whose wives are no longer fertile. It’s horrifying.

HARVARD VS. YALE – character who needs to make a life changing decision

I mean, when Feyre has to make the decision to go with Tamlin in A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas after she killed the wolf, that is as life changing as it gets. She has to give up her family, knowing that she will never see them again, and her life in general.

LUKE’S DINER – a comfort read

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling will always be my ultimate comfort read. I read these books for the first time when I was in second grade, and they have been my favorite books ever since. “Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.” Enough said.

AM I CRYING OR LAUGHING? – a book that messed with your emotions

I just finished Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare a few days ago, and it definitely messed with my emotions. It had that signature Cassandra Clare humor, but it was also SO HEARTBREAKING. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry all over again, but also smile so hard because FEELS. (You can find my book talk for Clockwork Princess here).

EMILY – the HBIC (head bitch in charge)

None other than Aelin Ashryver Galathynius from Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. But when I say bitch, I really mean it. I hate Aelin.

LORELAI AND RORY – favorite family dynamic

I love the family dynamic in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy by Jenny Han! Family is so important to Lara Jean, and I love the relationship she has with her sisters and her father. It reminds me so much of my family, and I also love how Jenny Han incorporated so much of Lara Jean’s Korean culture into the books.

I PUSHED HIM IN THE LAKE – a book you’d throw in the lake

Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas. I can’t remember the last time I hated a book as much as I hated this one.

1000 YELLOW DAISIES – favorite romance

Obviously, I can’t decide on one couple for this, so I am going to list my favorites, in no particular order.

  1. Ron and Hermione – Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
  2. Feyre and Rhysand – A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
  3. Warner and Juliette – Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
  4. Will and Tessa – The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
  5. Cath and Levi – Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
  6. Blue and Gansey – The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
  7. Lara Jean and Peter – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

JESS – an unpopular opinion

I hate Rowan Whitethorn from Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas more than anything. Actually, that’s not true, I hate Aelin more than him, but he’s a close second. He’s just so possessive and ridiculous, and there is literally nothing appealing about him to me.

FIRST SNOW – snowy or holiday read

I have to go with Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling again. I just love reading these books in the winter, because even though I don’t live in a place that snows, they’re just so warm and cozy to curl up with.

HEP ALIEN – book centered around music

Music is so important to both of the main characters in Saving June by Hannah Harrington, and it’s one of the first things that bring them together.

Oh, once again, I have way too many for these! How can a girl pick just one fictional boyfriend? Answer: she can’t!

  1. Rhysand – A Court of Mist and Fury
  2. Will Herondale – The Infernal Devices
  3. Ron Weasley – Harry Potter
  4. Levi – Fangirl
  5. Warner – Shatter Me
  6. Elias Veturius – An Ember in the Ashes
  7. Peter Kavinsky – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
  8. Etienne St. Clair – Anna and the French Kiss
  9. Richard Gansey – The Raven Cycle

IT’S REPETITIVE AND REDUNDANT – a book that could’ve been shorter

I’m going to have to go with Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas again. This book was almost 700 pages, but literally nothing happened for, like, the first 500.

KIRK – the weirdest book you’ve read

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff is one of the weirdest books I’ve ever read, but it’s also one of my all time favorites. The format, the sci fi setting….it’s crazy, but such an exciting read.

IT’S A LIFESTYLE, IT’S A RELIGION – the one book that means more to you than any other

For the third time in this post, I’m going to go with the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. These books mean so much to me, and no matter how many times I read them, they will never stop being special to me. That’s how much I love them.

So that’s it for the Gilmore Girls book tag! I love doing tags, so expect to see a lot more from me in the future. I’ll see you guys next time!
